Giovanni Sesia (Magenta, Milan, 1955) combines and contaminates the areas of photography and painting that once were separate. His work involves images that always contain the legacy of far-off memories, both because of what they represent (in this case suffering faces and bodies) and because of the changing colours with which they are printed. They are relicts that re-emerge after having travelled through time and spread out colours, words and symbols that are difficult to decipher – the mysterious diary of a lost soul.
